Velma Dinkley

Velma Dinkley is a member of the Mystery Inc. Gang, a group of amateur teenage detectives who travel around the country in their van solving mysteries with their talking dog Scooby-Doo. She is one of the main characters from the Scooby-Doo! franchise who made a guest appearance in "Bravo Dooby-Doo" where she appeared as one of the few women who was attracted to Johnny.

History[]

Past[]

Velma has been a part of the Mystery Inc. Gang since childhood and they have been traveling and solving mysteries ever since, going on all sorts of spooky misadventures.

Bravo Dooby-Doo[]

The Mystery Inc. Gang picked up a hitchhiking Johnny who was on his way to spend time with his aunt Jebedissa. Once introduced, Velma fell head over heels for Johnny, although Johnny seemed disinterested as he was more focused on Daphne Blake. Later on, the gang helped Johnny in solving the mystery of what happened to his aunt Jebedissa Bravo and stopping the Ghostly Gardener, and throughout the episode Johnny and Velma kept finding themselves in rather awkward situations, although Velma enjoyed herself well enough and even Johnny seemed rarely interested in her at times, but ultimately upon finding out that aunt Jebedissa was the Ghostly Gardener and confessed that she was trying to get rid of Johnny, the gang immediately apologized and asked what they could do for her, and she requested the gang take her along instead and ditch Johnny in the woods, which they were forced to comply with and left with Jebedissa who then started getting awkwardly close to the gang as they drove off.

Despite Velma and Johnny's brief time together in the show itself, their relationship would continued to be teased by Cartoon Network for years afterwards, with Johnny and Velma often appearing together in bumpers and promotional material.

Most notably two Cartoon Network bumpers revolved entirely around Johnny and Velma's feelings for each other, with the Cartoon Network Mole bumper even showing Johnny pursuing the relationship further and even asking Velma to marry him, however she somberly had to refuse as she wanted to focus on her career before settling down, which left Johnny broken hearted. Another bumper later on had Dexter of Dexter's Laboratory fame fall in love with Velma as well and help her with her hair gel formula, but he became broken hearted upon finding out that the hair gel formula she was making was actually for Johnny and the two then went out on a date as a miserable Dexter stayed behind to mope.
