Trivia[]
- Before this episode was produced, most character descriptions for Johnny mentioned that he earned his muscles after constantly going to the gym, or implied he started working out as an adult.
- Two details that stay consistent with previous descriptions are Johnny having been a "98-pound weakling" in the past, and the fact he was bullied in high school.
- This episode also follows a different continuity than the previous two seasons, as Johnny never went to prom. In "Candidate Johnny", Johnny reveals that Carl brought a rubber duck to prom, making it very likely he was present.
Cultural References[]
- The episode's title is a reference to the 1987 hit "(I've Had) The Time of My Life," the theme song for the film Dirty Dancing.
- At the beginning, Suzy says, "So, there really was a band called A Flock of Seagulls."
- Suzy claims she was learning about Hammer pants and Knight Rider.
- When Johnny runs to the front door to see Sandy, Suzy shouts Rob Schneider's catchphrase, "You can do it!"
- In Johnny’s flashback, there are three women singing in the background while he is telling the story about how he met Sandy. This is a reference to the Broadway musical and 1986 movie, Little Shop of Horrors, in which Crystal, Chiffon and Ronnette sing about how Seymour Krelborn met Audrey II.
