At the diner, Pops begins to tell one of his many stories, narrating in the same fashion as a film noir. A female badminton player enters the scene, asking for Johnny Bravo. Pops calls over to him, or "what's left of him." Johnny is now overweight with a 5 o'clock shadow, solemnly drinking glasses of root beer. The woman approaches him, asking what happened, as she was about to challenge him to a game. Johnny explains that he can never play professional badminton again due to one horrible match.
In a flashback, Carl and Suzy are about to play a game of badminton together. Carl pops open a can of shuttlecocks. Meanwhile, Johnny is crossing the street with an elderly woman and hears the pop of the can, abandoning her and rushing to his friends. Carl and Suzy are very hesitant to play with Johnny due to his poor sportsmanship. The three play anyway, Johnny easily winning the match and gloating. As the game's only spectator, Pops takes note of Johnny's skills and asks if he would like to become a professional player. Once Pops argues that Johnny could get all the free hot dogs he wants, he agrees.
In Denver, Colorado, Johnny is seen playing professional badminton against a caricature of Kirk Tingblad. He mistakenly slams the shuttlecock off of his opponent's head, which flies into the hot dog vendor's mouth. The man collapses in the stands, much to Johnny's horror at the realization that he cannot get his usual dog after the game. Paramedics arrive and take both the vendor and his hot dogs away before the flashback ends.
Trivia[]
- The episode is a loose parody of The Color of Money, specifically the 1986 film adaption.
