"Some Like It Stupid" is a Season 3 episode of Johnny Bravo.
Synopsis[]
On the run from Fish Lips Malone, Johnny and Carl disguise themselves as women and board a bus for the Miss Perky beauty pageant.
Plot Summary[]
Johnny is downtown, following a literal trail of breadcrumbs -- this ultimately leads him to a man in a sandwich costume, advertising for a sub-sandwich shop. Johnny ends up tackling the vendor, with the intention of eating him (thinking he's an actual sandwich rather than a man in a costume). But the vendor fights back, ultimately hitting Johnny in the face with a giant tomato slice. As Johnny's struggling to get it off of him, he wanders near a phone booth and happens to witness Fish Lips Malone (a notorious gangster) stealing a bunch of quarters from it -- Malone says out loud that if someone were to witness him doing this, he'd be sent to jail for good. Johnny stupidly yells that he's a witness and, of course, Malone threatens with consequences.
Johnny runs away and ends up running into Carl, who (of course) calls Johnny out for being stupid enough to reveal that he's a witness to something like that after Johnny explains the situation to him. Once Malone catches up to Johnny, the meathead says that he just explained everything to Carl, thereby making him a witness as well -- the two friends run away from the gangster, eventually ending up in an alley behind a theater, where they find racks full of women's clothing. Carl and a reluctant Johnny use the clothes to disguise themselves as woman, and when Malone catches up to them, he passes by without even recognizing them. But before the two have a chance to leave and take off their disguises, they're pushed towards a bus taking dozens of women to the 23rd-annual Miss Perky Beauty Pageant. Carl then points to Johnny that, for now at least, the best way to safe from Fish Lips Malone is to stay disguised as women and compete in the beauty pageant, which Johnny eagerly goes along with it when he realizes that they'll be surrounded by loads of beautiful women for the next several days.
The bus eventually arrives at a hotel/convention center, where they're checked into their rooms -- Carl gives his name as "Carla Chryniszzswics" while Johnny goes by "Mitch Checkouttimeisattwo" (claiming that it's Polish). Norma, a cute but ditzy blonde, compliments "Mitch's" name and asks to be roommates. Carl refuses on Johnny's behalf and explains to his friend (after Norma leaves) that, aside from sticking together, they can't risk anybody else finding that they're men. This causes Johnny to complain about how uncomfortable their disguises are.
Later on, rehearsals for the pageant's opening ceremony are underway -- while the women all dance around successfully, Johnny's bulky/muscular body causes him to mess up the routine. The choreographer stops him and tells him to be more graceful and to shave his legs -- this makes Johnny mad, but the other contestants hold him back. Carl then points out that Fish Lips Malone has entered the theater, looking for Johnny and Carl. Johnny quickly tap dances his way out of sight, which ultimately leads to him crashing through the stage floor.
A few days later, the pageant finally starts -- Norma admits that she's nervous to Johnny, who tries telling Norma that he's in love with her, but Norma cuts him off before he has a chance to say anything. Norma tells Johnny that his finger puppet reenactment of the American Civil War will go over well with the judges and blows him a good luck kiss. Johnny asks his General Sherman puppet for advice. "General Sherman" tells Johnny to follow his heart, and also burn down Atlanta.
During the interview portion of the pageant, Johnny ultimately reveals himself to be a man to the crowd -- Fish Lips Malone is in the audience and chases Johnny to the backstage area and prepares to gut him. But Norma steps in and saves Johnny by talking down Malone, who's genuinely moved by Norma's words -- Johnny thanks Norma for saving him, but after he starts hitting on her, she beats him up and leaves arm-in-arm with Fish Lips Malone.
Johnny's had enough and calls for Carl so they can leave, but Carl's been crowned "Miss Perky" and is soaking up the applause. But Johnny, having none of this, walks out on stage and reveals that Carl's a man just like he is. But to the surprise of everyone (including Johnny and Carl), the rest of the contestants reveal themselves to be men disguised as women. The episode ultimately ends with an understandably confused Johnny pointing out how he honestly didn't see that coming.

- This episode is a blatant parody of the 1959 romantic comedy film Some Like It Hot.
- The character of Norma could be parody of Marilyn Monroe, the lead actress in the aforementioned movie. Marilyn Monroe's real name was "Norma Jeane Mortenson."
- General Sherman tells Johnny, "Follow your heart, Johnny...AND THEN BURN ATLANTA;" while Atlanta refers to the studios of Cartoon Network, the owner and channel of the series.
