"Prep School Johnny" is a Season 2 episode of Johnny Bravo.
Synopsis[]
Johnny gets enrolled into a fancy, uptight prep school. Three students named Todd, Nigel, and Urquhart (nicknamed "Piggy") attempt to get Johnny in trouble so he'll be expelled.
Plot Summary[]
In a board of trustees meeting at Pensington Prep School, the headmaster reveals there is a new state law that "a dumb, oversized blonde guy" must be enrolled to fulfill their quota. The man he chose to fit this quota is none other than Johnny, who is at home, trying to beat the world record for shoving the most hardboiled eggs into one's mouth.
Bunny walks in with the letter of acceptance, wanting Johnny to enroll in order to prove the Bravos are quality people. Johnny is reluctant, but quickly gives in. At the school, Johnny is introduced to the headmaster and three boys named Todd, Nigel, and Urquhart Blair ("Piggy"). Johnny makes a terrible first impression, injuring staff with karate moves and throwing a man out for not having a name tag. The boys assume this will get Johnny expelled, but the headmaster reveals that Johnny can only leave Pensington by choice.
Later that afternoon, Johnny and Piggy have to face-off in a debate about Britain's monarchy. Johnny mocks and repeats Piggy, frustrating him to the point of quitting the debate. Meanwhile, Todd and Nigel plan to make Johnny so miserable he will want to leave their school.
Outside, the boys approach Johnny as he tries to learn Latin. They then convince him to try "endearing" himself to the Latin teacher by reenacting the Sack of Rome. Later that night, Johnny dresses up in a costume and the boys help him to launch rolls of toilet paper into the Hall of Latin. He then advances into the hall, injuring the headmaster.
At the headmaster's office with Bunny, Johnny is asked who put him up to such a childish prank. He rats out his fellow classmates, which is against Pensington's unwritten law. The headmaster then prepares to give Johnny a paddling as punishment. Bunny, proud that her son told the truth, angrily gives the headmaster and Johnny's classmates a paddling instead.
Trivia[]
- Johnny randomly claims to have three webbed toes, which is false.
Cultural References[]
- Piggy is based on the character of the same name from Lord of the Flies, which also starred British schoolboys.
