"Jungle Boy in "Mr. Monkeyman"" is a Season 1 episode of Johnny Bravo, that appears on the What A Cartoon! series.
Synopsis[]
The evil King Raymond attempts to frame Jungle Boy to reclaim the praise that the other animals used to give him.
Plot Summary[]
Deep in the jungles of Africa, the animals live in (relative) peace. But, whenever there is trouble, they turn to Jungle Boy, a young human boy with super strength. Trouble quickly arises when an elephant yells for help. Jungle Boy swings on the vines and reaches the elephant. He points out that the dam is leaking and will flood the jungle. Jungle Boy shoves the elephant butt-first into the hole, then swings off to find someone to patch the hole. This gets the attention of the Jungle News Network, and they interview various animals. They all talk about how adorable, brave, and strong he is.
King Raymond sees the news, and is not impressed. He flips through the channels, and not only are the commercials advertising Jungle Boy products, Jungle Boy will even be in a movie with Brooke Shields. This angers King Raymond. He asks his butler, Rupert, why everyone likes Jungle Boy so much. Rupert simply states that Jungle Boy is "the man." Raymond heads outside to prove that someone still likes him. He approaches a trio of female gorillas, and flirts with them. The girl gorillas aren't thrilled to see Raymond. But, they are thrilled to see Jungle Boy walking by. They ooh and ahh over him, and he politely thanks them for the compliments before he leaves. Raymond points out that Jungle Boy is a human, and will likely hunt the animals when he gets older. The girl gorillas doubt this and leave Raymond alone.
Raymond forms a plan to get the people to turn on Jungle Boy. He shaves himself bald, puts on a wig and loincloth, and goes outside to wreak havoc. The fake Jungle Boy insults the gorilla girls, tampers with someone's laundry, and shoves the elephant from the dam butt-first into the recently patched hole. The news reports on this, and Raymond relishes the fact that the animals are starting to hate Jungle Boy.
Later, the real Jungle Boy approaches a group of animals. Mr. Bear says they should just ignore the kid, but Jungle Boy's pleasant smile quickly stops that plan. Mr. Bear says that the animals shouldn't stay mad at Jungle Boy for his mischief, since he's a little kid and likely didn't know better. Raymond overhears and walks up to the crowd, still in his Jungle Boy costume. He demands that everyone hate Jungle Boy again. But now, the crowd is unable to tell who the real Jungle Boy is. Raymond insists that he is the real Jungle Boy and wants to have a little contest to prove it. He says he can hold a note longer than Jungle Boy can, and demonstrates. Raymond's singing causes a nearby mountain to crumble and collapse on top of him. Raymond emerges from the rubble, but his wig falls off. The animals recognize Raymond, but Raymond threatens Jungle Boy with a pointy banana if the crowd gets any closer to him. Jungle Boy body-slams Raymond around in retaliation.
The animals decide to tar and feather Raymond as punishment. Raymond runs away screaming, and the animals chase him. Mary Antelope from the Jungle News interviews Jungle Boy, asking him how he feels about this whole experience. Jungle Boy says he feels wet, and asks Mary to change his diaper. Mary just asks to go back to her co-anchor.
