This is a list of Johnny Bravo's notable relationships with women and other females.
Mary[]
Mary the Zookeeper was Johnny's main babe target from the pilot episode. After her gorilla escaped the zoo, Johnny tried to impress her by claiming he could get it back. Initially she seemed a bit annoyed by Johnny's attempts to distract her, but after showing off his muscles and telling her that he was a superhero, she was surprisingly impressed and even believed him, even promising Johnny that she would go out with him if he got the gorilla back.
However any potential romance never blossomed after the gorilla made a monkey out of Johnny and she instead went with the big hairy ape.
Jane Bonded[]
Jane the spy was one of the first women to show a genuine romantic interest in Johnny, although like most she was initially irritated by his idiocy and arrogance, even beating him up, but she eventually started returning his affection as they were forced into a spy mission together and thwarted the schemes of the evil Dr. Pencilneck.
Later, when Johnny asked to be rewarded with a kiss from Jane for his help, she was more than willing to do so, giving Johnny his first onscreen kiss, and a rather passionate one at that. However she accidentally used her weaponized lipstick which ended up giving her malaria and knocked herself out.
Fluffy[]
Fluffy was the first rare example of a woman who was completely enthralled by Johnny regardless of his idiocy, and was very enthusiastic about their date. However, Johnny's affection towards her would be strained upon finding out that she was a werewolf who transformed at night. She remained attracted to Johnny regardless of her form, and Johnny ultimately decided to give her a chance knowing that she would eventually turn back into a human.
Once morning came, the two were eager to start making out, but just then Fluffy hesitantly revealed to Johnny that lycanthropy wasn't her only curse, as on Wednesdays she transforms into an annoying little bald man named Melvin who is obsessed with stamp collecting, much to Johnny's horror and presumably ending their relationship, with Johnny remarking that he would rather wrestle sharks.
Lois[]
Lois was a seductive vampire who decided to date Johnny after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend Woody, who she considered boring and passionless. Initially Woody tried to dissuade Lois from leaving him, even pointing out that Johnny wasn't a vampire, and thus unworthy of her, but Lois simply dismissed him, as she would simply turn Johnny into her immortal vampire lover. Lois became instantly attracted to Johnny and his more daring romance, and was particularly attracted to his "neck muscles" which she wanted to sink her teeth into. Johnny though was completely ignorant about her being a vampire or her intentions of wanting to suck his blood. However, any romance and potential vampirism between them was spoiled when her jealous ex-boyfriend Woody sabotaged Johnny's date through several sneaky and underhanded tricks, and by the end of the date won Lois back by pretending to be more like Johnny.
Despite Woody's actions against him, there were no hard feelings and Johnny had no issue with them being monsters, even doing a conga line with Lois, Woody and all of their monster friends.
Velma Dinkley[]
Cartoon Network Mole Johnny Bravo for Velma
Velma of the Scooby-Doo franchise also fell in love with Johnny, however Johnny initially did not return her feelings, preferring instead to pursue Daphne Blake. That didn't stop Velma from constantly making flirtatious passes at Johnny and trying to get physically close to him whenever possible.
Despite their brief time together, Cartoon Network and HB studios liked the relationship enough that they would continue to endorse it in future ads, promotions and bumpers during the 90s and 2000s.
- This section contains some content from sources that may be considered "non-canon," such as promotional ads, comics and bumpers.
In the first of such bumpers titled "Cartoon Network Mole", Johnny was shown to have decided to give Velma a chance and actually fell in love with her, even asking for her hand in marriage, but sadly Velma had to reject his proposal as she wanted to focus on her career as a detective. In an interstitial for The Cartoon Network Mole, Bravo at "Joe's Diner", where he tells a story about the day he fell in love with Velma and proposed to her, but she rejected him as her career took priority. He quickly bounced back when he spotted Melody of Josie and the Pussycats. That didn't stop them from hanging out and dating though, as seen in many later bumpers. Even Dexter of Dexter's Laboratory had his heartbroken by Velma when he found out that Velma still only had eyes for Johnny.
Melody Valentime[]
When his dating with Velma Dinkley didnt work out, Bravo began dating silly Melody Valentime of Josie and the Pussycats.
Carol[]
Carol was a real-estate agent who Johnny met on an online dating site, but unbeknownst to him she wasn't even human and he was shocked to find out that she was an antelope when she showed up for their date. Initially Carol seemed hurt by Johnny's disappointment but he quickly apologized when she began crying and actually decided to date her.
Johnny went through their date as awkwardly as one would expect and while at a restaurant he asked Carol why she would want to date a human like him and she somberly admitted that she was only using Johnny to get back at her possessive boyfriend and apologized for misleading him (weirdly enough, Johnny actually seemed hurt by this), but just then her boyfriend (a pint-sized crab no less) showed up and began harassing Johnny for dating Carol. Carol then angrily broke up with him and licked Johnny's face in defiance, causing the crab and Johnny to duke it out in the restaurant while Carol cheered on Johnny to win, however their duel was cut short by the arrival of the police who then took the fighting idiots away.
Carol later visited Johnny at the police station and apologized to him for the trouble she caused.
Holly O'Hair[]
Holly was a proposed character pitched in the Series Bible for season 2 who ultimately did not get to appear in the show. Had Holly appeared, she would've been Johnny's new greedy next-door neighbor, who would often use Johnny as a tool in her schemes or as an escort for social events, acting as both an antagonist and as a rival to Johnny in several sporting events and competitions. Despite her malicious attitude towards Johnny, she had genuine romantic feelings for him due to Johnny being one of the few men (and possibly her only real friend) who was willing to put up with her intimidating personality since Johnny was too enthralled by her good looks to notice her selfish nature, and she genuinely enjoyed spending time with him, even though it usually ended with Johnny in pain.
The polarizing nature of their relationship made its fate questionable, as a well-meaning lunkhead like Johnny might not fit into her warped and dangerous lifestyle.
The Estronians[]
The entire female alien population of Estron-3 was attracted to Johnny and picked him to be their new king and dating stud after they determined that he was the perfect male specimen. Though appearing emotionless by nature, the Queen and Doctor were more than satisfied with Johnny, and the Estronian population as a whole became enamored with him after he passed their most difficult challenge (opening a jar of pickles) and were more than willing to meet all of Johnny's needs, even installing cable television for him, and giving Johnny a harem and a paradise to rule over.
Ultimately though, installing cable on Estron-3 would prove to be Johnny's undoing, as the Estronians lost interest in Johnny after seeing footage of the Scottsman (a Mel Gibson parody) on TV and falling for his more rugged looks. They then quickly sent Johnny back home. However it seems they ultimately rejected the Scottman too as he was seen hanging out at Loch Ness in "Loch Ness Johnny".
Rootsy[]
Rootsy was the daughter of a native tribe leader who met Johnny in the forest. Because she couldn't speak a word of english, she was not put off by Johnny's cheesy pickup line and she fell for him after he offered her a flower. Johnny was at first nervous when her father ordered him to marry her before looking at her again and imagining himself and Rootsy raising a chunk of wood together and living out an idealistic life in the style of I Love Lucy.
Their wedding was ruined by Carl though, who thought Johnny was in danger and "rescued" him from the clutches of the tribe. The king then ordered the duo to be executed for angering their gods, but both managed to escape, leaving a brokenhearted Rootsy behind to say goodbye.
The Giant Ape[]
A gigantic monstrous ape from Skull Island who was in actuality a lonely female looking for companionship. When she found Johnny, she immediately fell for him and tried to force him to live with her.
Pops later used Johnny to capture the she-beast and chained her up at his diner for a world premiere. However when the ape saw Johnny flirting with some models, she grew jealous, broke free, attacked the stage and made off with Johnny, carrying him to the top of the diner. Johnny was able to calm her down though after telling her that he would treat her better and giver her chocolates, which won back her affection, but just then she was tranquilized and landed on top of a badly hurt Johnny.
Future Babe[]
The enigmatic "Future Babe" was a resident of the far future in the 25th Century who Johnny came across after he became preserved in a vat of hair gel for 500 years and was subsequently revived by Carl 97324. When Carl 97324 took Johnny to the future location of Pop's Moon Palace, Johnny caught sight of the beautiful Future Babe and immediately began to hit on her, asking her if she wanted to make out in his usual blunt fashion. Surprisingly though, she actually showed interest in Johnny and agreed to make out with him, much to Johnny's own surprise, but his surprise would soon be replaced by confusion as she strapped a bizarre tentacled device to his face connected to a small mouthpiece which she began kissing, causing painful electric kisses to be transmitted to Johnny's face. Carl then explained that kissing has been outlawed, forcing citizens to use these painful electrical devices as alternatives in order to be intimate in the future. Despite the incredible pain, it was simultaneously enjoyable for Johnny.
However their brief romantic yet painful encounter was cut short when Future Babe heard the call of Big Brother's sirens signaling all citizens to go watch his mandatory broadcasts, although Johnny asked her to call him as she left.
Helga[]
Helga was a foreign mail order girlfriend from an indeterminate country that Johnny ordered from a catalog out of desperation, initially thinking she would be an exotic foreign babe but was horrified to find out that she was actually a huge, smelly and overweight wrestler. Helga was very attracted to Johnny at first, but Johnny tried his best to get her to dislike him, even taking her to an unromantic wrestling match, but none of his plans worked as she enjoyed wrestling and pigging out just as much as Johnny.
Johnny grew impatient as the date went on, but when they went to Pop's Moon Palace, Pop's made Johnny realize that Helga was his ideal woman, as she liked all the same things Johnny liked and they actually had fun together. A smitten Johnny then realized that Helga would make a great girlfriend and proceeded to "woo" her with his usual cheesy pickup lines, flexes and arrogant boasting, which finally turned Helga off and made her dump Johnny, with her preferring the more timid and humble Carl, leaving Johnny heartbroken once again, but at least he had nuggets to soften the heartache.
Red Xonia[]
Red Xonia was a warrior woman from a mystical realm of barbarians who encountered Johnny after he had been magically transported to her world. Initially Xonia was hostile towards Johnny and even tried to kill him, but Johnny was able to outwit her (without realizing it) and swiftly defeated her. Xonia then fell in love with Johnny, declaring that only a man who could defeat her was worthy of being her husband.
Before the relationship could grow though, Xonia dragged Johnny off to fight a group of marauders and used him as a weapon, while Johnny begged his new girlfriend to go easy on him. After the marauders were defeated, Xonia celebrated her victory with Johnny, but before Johnny could recover from his concussion, he was magically transported back to his own world, leaving Xonia alone and heartbroken, making her consider the option of getting a sidekick.
Women Prisoners[]
When Johnny was unjustly sent to prison, he was accidentally sent to an all-female prison after his documents mistakenly marked him as a woman named Joanie. There he managed to befriend the female inmates Tiffany and Phoebe who saw him as one of their own, but when Johnny revealed that he was a guy, Tiffany, Phoebe and all of the women in the prison swarmed him and started asking him out, finally giving Johnny all the dates he could ever want.
Sadly, his prison paradise would come to an end when the jailer called Johnny to the warden's office to reveal that Bunny and Suzy had proven Johnny's innocence, much to his regret. Worst still, when the temperamental jailer called Johnny earlier, her grating voice created a fissure in the ground that swallowed up most of the female inmates.
Nessie[]
Nessie, the fabled beast of Loch Ness was hostile towards Johnny when they first met as she wanted to steal his haggis in order to enjoy it by herself for a lonely romantic dinner (for one), causing the two to get into a feud over who gets to eat it, but once Johnny found out what haggis was made out of, he was disgusted and let Nessie have it. She then mistook his gesture of disgust as a romantic one and became attracted to Johnny and stuck by him.
Strangely enough, Johnny later asked his Momma if he could keep Nessie, passing her off as a cat.
Femme[]
Femme was unique in that she was the first woman to be attracted to Johnny who was just as dumb as him. She initially hired Johnny (who was at the time working as a detective) to go on a wild goose chase to deal with her criminal rivals, but in the end Johnny unintentionally solved the case and exposed Femme as the real culprit, but she still remained fond of Johnny. Sadly their relationship could never be as they were on opposite sides of the law and she eventually taken away by the police, but not before she gave him a sloppy goodbye kiss on the cheek. Johnny though was willing to turn to a life of crime for her once the cops took her away and he promised to go see her on visiting days.
Johnny would not forget Femme as seen in "In Your Dreams" where she appeared as his perfect Dream Girl.
Julie Speroni[]
Julie Speroni was a famous actress who attended the same school as Johnny when they were children, however Johnny always found her unattractive and annoying when they were young, even thinking that her pigtails were "out to get him". Years later, now an attractive superstar, Julie returned to her hometown where she ran into Johnny again and forced him to go out with her by having her bodyguards invite him to the date, but Johnny in his usual shortsightedness still thought she was an ugly pigtailed girl, and so did his best to avoid eye contact with her on the night of the date, completely ignorant of her change and that he was dating a famous superstar who played his favorite superhero Kitty Kat.
By the end of their date, Johnny's attempts to avoid her and keep their date private actually turned out well as it kept the paparazzi away and avoided alienating her with his usual cheesy pick up lines, although Julie still realized Johnny was rather dumb but admitted that she liked him regardless, and gave him a big kiss on the cheek before leaving.
Lumberjack Princess[]
The Lumberjack Princess was unimpressed with Johnny when he claimed to be a lumberjack, but after hearing his made-up story about being a Paul Bunyan-like folk-hero, she seemed to show interest in Johnny, knowing full well that the story was fake but finding it amusing, and even encouraged Johnny to win the lumberjack competition and acted flirtatious towards him.
It was never made clear if her feelings were platonic or romantic, though she congratulated him on winning. She was nonetheless friendly towards Johnny and politely rejected his kiss after introducing him to her very large mother the Lumberjack Queen who was very attracted to Johnny, although the feeling was far from mutual for Johnny.
Sheila[]
Shelia was a wealthy heiress who fell in love with Johnny during his vacation cruise on the S.S. Moronic. She found Johnny alluring due to his childish innocence and easygoing nature when compared to the stuffy rich boys she has known. Initially both fell in love and enjoyed a romantic day on the cruise, with Johnny even lending her his Squint Ringo decoder ring, which she interpreted as a gift. Moved by his innocent display of affection, Sheila took Johnny to the ship's helm so they could enjoy some passionate alone time. However Johnny's oblivious stupidity ended up ruining their private moment of romance and caused the ship to sink, with Johnny almost leaving Sheila to sink and later asking her for his ring back which infuriated her, making her throw it in the sea.
Years later in a questionably possible future, an older Johnny was reunited with his decoder ring and Sheila who apologized to Johnny for how she acted all those years ago, but he wasted no time in flirting with Sheila again. Infuriated, she flushed Johnny's ring down the toilet, leaving him in agony once again.
Bride of F[]
Johnny Bravo - Frankenbravo - Cartoon Network
The Bride of F was a monstrous and mute Frankenstein-esque flesh golem who was created by a mad scientist to be the perfect woman. When the mad doctor met Johnny, he realized that Johnny would make the perfect specimen for his next experiment, as well as the perfect husband for his artificial daughter, and so he gave Johnny his blessing to pursue her after Johnny consented to being experimented on, but the Bride had zero interest in the persistent in him and ran off but Johnny still went in hot pursuit.
However after Johnny had a seemingly fatal accident at a windmill in a possible future, the mad scientist revived him as another Frankenstein monster and apparently the Bride of F and Johnny somehow hit it off and even got married, however years later the wife learned to speak and had become a very overbearing and harsh wife who treated Johnny terribly, with Johnny commenting that she used to be nice but turned into a real monster after marriage.
Jasperine[]
Jasperine was a genie who had been trapped in a toaster and was set free by Johnny, granting him three wishes. Like most, she was initially put off by Johnny's stupidity and his "cheesy come-ons", even warning him that it was against genie bylaw to flirt with a genie as it would result in him being cursed into the form of a genie and trapped in the toaster forever.
As Johnny made his wishes, he was made the guinea pig for a talking monkey scientist, was forced into an unfaithful marriage with a female doppelganger, and was forced back into the monkey's lab, but before he could be dissected, Jasperine saved his life despite being out of wishes, admitting that she had fallen for Johnny despite him being a total lunkhead, however Johnny couldn't resist her affection and proceeded to make another "cheesy come-on", causing him to be cursed into being a genie.
Female Johnny Bravo[]
The Female Johnny was a being magically created by Jasperine the Genie to serve as Johnny's ideal "perfect chick" who would be just like him in terms of personality, appearance and intelligence. However Johnny got more than he bargained for when his "wife" turned out to be an exact duplicate of himself, right down to manly physique and voice.
Johnny was horrified by his new wife, and decided to undo his wish after noticing that his so called wife had an illegitimate child who looked exactly like Carl.
Heather Asplund[]
Heather was initially picked by Bunny Bravo to be Johnny's blind date. Johnny was against it at first, but when he finally met Heather, he fell head over heels for her and she in turn fell for him. The two realized they had a lot in common and although Heather was notably smarter, the two still ended up hitting it off, with Johnny finally finding his ideal soulmate at last. Sadly this romance would not last as Heather revealed that she was a secret agent after some assassins attacked them, and if Johnny stayed with her then his life would always be in danger, so she gave Johnny a passionate kiss and erased his memory of their date.
When Johnny later awoke, he had no memory of Heather but felt incredibly sad over the events he couldn't recall. Just then he found an anonymous note from Heather telling him that someone out there would always love him. Meanwhile a saddened Heather continued to think of Johnny while fighting off assassins.
Becky[]
After Johnny agreed to take part in the witness protection program, hoping he would be assigned a pretty fake wife to keep him company, he was instead sent Becky, a very large and heavy anthropomorphic moose from the witness protection program for animals who had been placed in Johnny's custody to act as his wife while they posed as a newly married elephant couple. Becky seemed to be very attracted to Johnny and took her role as his wife more seriously than Johnny wanted. Johnny humored her at first and it turned out that they shared much in common, including low intelligence, but she became increasingly more attached, even growing jealous when Johnny flirted with other girls, much to his annoyance but ultimately decided to act more faithful for her sake.
Eventually they were able to figure out that the "animal gangsters" who were after Becky only wanted to find her because their boss wanted a puzzle piece that she mistakenly took, thus resolving the matter, although Johnny considered the gangsters to be a bunch of weirdos.
Sandy Baker[]
Sandy was possibly one of Johnny's first serious romances, as Sandy was probably the first girl to return his affections when they were younger, even when Johnny was just a scrawny nerd and even managed to convince her to go to prom with him. She was also the reason Johnny bulked up in the first place. However their relationship ended tragically as when Johnny picked her up she was gone and he never saw her again.
Years later upon reuniting with Sandy, Johnny found out why she ditched him and she explained that she did want to go to prom with him but her parents were moving away that day, and she even told Johnny all those years ago but he was too excited to hear her. Johnny then hoped to rekindle their romance, but Sandy was forced to turn him down as she revealed that she got married since she moved from Aron City and had several kids, though she still hoped they could be friends.
Sumi[]
Sumi was Johnny's co-star during his Bollywood film production, playing the role of his love interest in the film and even when the cameras were off. When they first met, both were very attracted to each other and Sumi became very impressed when Johnny seemed to understand Hindi (however Johnny revealed that he was just reading the subtitles). They eventually hit it off and she actually seemed amused by his idiotic pompousness rather than being put off by it.
Sumi wanted to take the relationship even further by visiting Johnny's trailer in the middle of the night with nothing but a bikini and a ribbon top, however Johnny turned her away as he was having a crisis with his Momma. Sumi later confessed her feelings for Johnny at the award show but Johnny simply answered her "I love you" with "I love me too". He was nonetheless still attracted to her and went to save her and his other new Bollywood friends after they had been kidnapped.
In the end, Johnny told her to keep the magic hair gel he had been using and both were seen dancing together in the credits. Considering she was Johnny's last known love interest in his last bit of media, it is unknown if their relationship was able to last.
