"Johnny Bigfoot" is the first comic story based on the Johnny Bravo series. It was written by show writer John Crane. The story was published in Cartoon Network Starring #2.

Synopsis[]

Johnny agrees to be the chaperone on Suzy's Camper Critters trip to Wakkatakka Lake, only to discover that Carl is a forest ranger. After Johnny rises out of a tar pit, he gets mistaken for Bigfoot.

Goofs[]

  • There is a typo in one of Carl's speech bubbles, reading "let is" instead of "let us."
  • "Ericaceae" is misspelled as "Ericacea."

Trivia[]

  • This is the first of two comic stories written by John Crane, the second being "Maniac On 34th Street!"
  • This is one of the only comic stories written by any of the show's crew.
  • The plot shares similarities with "Johnny Goes To Camp" and "Ape is Enough," two episodes that Crane did not work on.
    • It is possible that this story's plot was the original outlined premise for "Johnny Goes To Camp" in the series bible, which may have been split into two different episodes for the final series.
  • This is the first instance of Suzy being a part of the Camper Critters, as the concept never made its way into the final show.
  • Carl explains tar pits similarly to the tour guide from a Season 2 interstitial short. Johnny also falls into the tar pit in the story, similarly to him stepping in one during the short.
  • The comic issue this story was featured in was published in October 1999, a few months after Season 2 begun airing.
