Synopsis[]
Johnny is mistaken for a karate expert, and agrees to help a Mexican village defeat an evil thief.
Plot Summary[]
At Master Hama's karate studio, Johnny's acting as the substitute teacher while Master Hama's out sick with food poisoning. Johnny tries to pick a wide-eyed, runty student to fight, only to go flying into a trophy case -- a Mexican man soon enters the dojo and approaches Johnny, mistaking him for a "karate expert." The man explains that he's the mayor of a village of cowards being menaced by a bandito who goes by "Muy Caliente." Johnny agrees to help the man and they head to his village, which isn't very far from Johnny's town.
Johnny is reluctant and frightened to face Muy Caliente, which changes once the mayor claims that the women of the village will flock to him if he wins. Johnny requests the villagers bring him three items, which prove to be useless as he only offers them to the thief once they meet. Afterwards, Johnny makes a pitiful attempt to lasso him and fight, only to run and hide. Johnny then disguises himself as a woman, which goes astray when Muy Caliente starts flirting with him, which makes Johnny panic and break character. Johnny then fails to land a punch, and Muy Caliente orders him to make humiliating animal sounds.
After witnessing Johnny's failures and realizing that he's an even bigger coward than they, the mayor and the rest of the village decide to work together to beat Muy Caliente themselves -- they succeed and manage to drive him out of the village for good. The villagers celebrate and thank Johnny for (unintentionally) teaching them to not depend on strangers to help them and to fight their own battles. Johnny then tries to flirt with the women of the village, only to be tied up and beaten like a piñata.
